Coverage of the Senate fight to continue funding the government changed within minutes of shutdown. The liberal media propaganda machine kicked into gear.
As I watched the countdown to shutdown last night, I noticed a dramatic shift in the narrative. Leading up to the actual shutdown, and shortly thereafter, headlines like these were popping up.

I took those screenshots after hearing Bret Baier point them out on Fox News. Within minutes of taking the screenshots, headlines began to change.
Other news outlets had already picked up the Associated Press story and republished the headline.

With the exception of some small blogs and a few local news websites, you won’t find those headlines anywhere today. All major news outlets have since reworded their headlines and updated articles to shift blame away from Senate Democrats.
Today, on Twitter the blame game rages. However, despite President Trump’s usual dominance in the Twittersphere, the late night narrative change appears to be winning on Twitter.

This is the behavior of obstructionist losers, not legislators. When Dems pay our armed forces & first responders we will reopen negotiations on immigration reform. During the politically manufactured #SchumerShutdown, @POTUS will fight for & protect the American people.

So, who is to blame?
Obviously, there is plenty of blame to go around. The fact that the government has had to resort to continuing resolutions to keep the doors open is a major issue. Intractable differences, party politics and obstructionism on all sides have thwarted passing budgets and appropriations bills.
As for why this continuing resolution failed, it was pure party politics. While some Republicans were opposed, the bill died for no other reason than Senate Democrats taking hostages.
There was nothing in the bill that Democrats opposed. In fact, the SCHIP, State Child Health Insurance Program, 6 year reauthorization was a Republican compromise. It was also the longest reauthorization of the program, ever.
Senate Democrats voted against the bill, not because they opposed what was in it, but because of what wasn’t in it. The very purpose of a continuing resolution is to continue government while Congress works out their differences on other issues.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. There is absolutely nothing in this bill that #Senate Democrats oppose, yet they are shutting down the government. https://t.co/LUk6SUpvoN

The Democratic Leader took the extraordinary step of filibustering a government funding bill, preventing it from passing, and plunging our country into this 100% avoidable mess.

Democrats argue that this is entirely the Republicans fault, because they “control” the White House, the House and the Senate. So, what happened?
- White House: President Trump supported and said he would sign the bill.
- House of Representatives: Passed a continuing resolution.
- Senate: Requires 60 votes, has 51 Republicans.
A slim majority in the Senate is not “control.” Despite the claims of Democrats. So, why the shutdown standoff and misinformation campaign?
- #Trumpiversary: One Year Ago Today President Trump took the oath of office.
- Booming Economy credited to President Trump.
- Upcoming State of the Union.
- A year of incredible accomplishments for President Trump and GOP.
- MIDTERM ELECTIONS!
This was a purely political move, aided and abetted by a complicit liberal media willing to rewrite the narrative in the Democrats favor.

The damn demoncrapts ought to be thrown out of office for not doing their jobs !!!!!!!!
The military and police should surround the democrat politicians homes and not allow anyone in or out of their homes until they start to actually work with other politicians.
Both Senate walkouts this year follow in a long tradition of minority parties denying quorums in an attempt to block legislation. Texas Democratic lawmakers fled the state in 2003 to stop a redistricting bill, while Wisconsin Democrats left that state in 2011 in an attempt to block legislation cutting union rights.
